Gifts for you

Love came down at Christmas;
Love all lovely, love divine;
Love was born at Christmas,
Stars and angels gave the sign.
- Christina Rossetti

Today’s post is a gentle reminder to all who are busily creating a memorable holiday.

Take a frequent quiet moments for yourself. Consciously relax your muscles and breathe.  Look at the beauty around you and feel the gratitude in your heart for all the good in your life.

I was talking with my daughter about the gifts still on her list to buy or bake or wrap.  “It seems like Christmas is all about the gifts,” she sighed.

It struck me later that she was right.  It is all about the gifts; but it's not about the ones on our lists.

The real gifts are the ones that were given originally:

Heaven brought down to earth in the gift of the Child, offering love, peace and forgiveness

The gift of a pure and willing spirit given by Mary

Joseph gave the gifts of faith and trust as he took Mary as his wife

Compassion was the gift from the innkeeper and his wife

The Drummer boy gave the best of his talent

The Magi gave gifts fitting a New-Born-Kind but they also gave wonder by accepting the child, and courage for helping the young family to escape

The angels delivered the divine messages and tidings of great Joy

These are gifts that endure.  They are for each of us to enjoy.  Allow yourself to receive the gifts.  Relax into the peace, the love and the joy that was given so long ago.

May the gifts of the season be yours!

Thank you for another wonderful post. Where else could anybody get that kind of information in such a perfect manner of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m at the search for such information.
